Coming Along!

After being driven batty by fiddly lettering, I thought I'd start painting my shirt to give myself some light relief...oooh it was soooo much easier. I also painted my hand in, but it came out looking withered, red and knobbly. I do have funny bony bendy fingers but the hand was so ugly I had to paint over it and start again! How vain! Talking of vanity, should I paint on some mascara or not??

Kirsty - can I have a close-up of your books so I can get inspired as to what to read next? xx

Wow! Well of course, but let me give you all time my top faves: all chosen for characters that stay with you forever and great big stories-all read at least twice!

The Gargoyle by Andrew Davidson (funny, magical, extraordinary!)
A Prayer For Owen Meany by John Irving (such a clever plot and amazing title character) also by same author, The Cider House Rules and The World According To Garp, hard to pick a favourite...
The Bone People by Keri Hulme (great story and characters)
Shantaram by Gregory Roberts (beautifully written exciting true story set in Bombay)
Time Travellers Wife (maybe a girl's story but great twists!)
We need to talk about Kevin (wow, profoundly different, great twist at the end!)
A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle (In my opinion, the ultimate self help book-it's a poncey title for a book that makes you understand how us humans tick and how to remove yourself from bad thinking habits and rubbish!)

Hope that starts you off! Of course these are just my favourites and you might not like them but then again, great writing is great writing!!! Xxxxx
